Good Examples of Website Design

Below you will find three examples of websites I consider well-designed and I will explain my point of view and why I chose them.

Gucci

Firstly I will show you the Gucci website, a high-fashion italian brand for women and men.

Although the e-commerce websites have a high competition level I consider this website a good example due to the following aspects:

  • Fast load time.
  • Provides an experience to the user and knows who is the target audience.
  • Responsive (RWD).
  • Https protocol.
  • Clean and white backround.
  • The menu is well organised.
  • It transmits credibility.
  • Easy to navigate.
  • The colours are in light tones which allows the user to navigate more time without forcing the view.
  • It is mainly composed of a few videos, GIFS and photography.

Vanity Fair

I decided to choose Vanity Fair online magazine because I like their concept of mixing entertainment with politics and fashion news.

The first thing that comes to my mind when I look at this website is that really seems to be a paper journal. I like how the content is organised and also the typography they use.

Some other aspects I consider importantes to highlight this magazine are:

  • Since this is mostly a teen magazine, the quality of their articles is not just superficial and it can be a source of relevant information.
  • Interesting and differentiating concept.
  • No advertising or pop-up’s.
  • The predominant colours are white, black and red.
  • Fast load.
  • Well organised.

Beyond Beauty

Beyond Beaty | True Version of Yourself

This last example is totally different than the others mainly because of its purpose. Beyond Beauty is centred in women beauty and it’s promoted by four English celebrities, such as Emma Watson, Natalie Portman, Jennifer Lawrence and Cara Delevingne.

Why this website matters?

  • Fully differentiating user experience.
  • Interactive.
  • Visual and auditory experience.
  • Unusual but interesting colour scheme.
  • Credibility.
  • Easy to navigate.
